Oleksiy Orestovych Tkachenko

Born on December, 6, 1956, Kyiv. Candidate of philological sciences. Associate professor. Graduated from Kyiv National University, Romanic-Germanic Languages sub-department, in 1979. Associate professor at Theory and Practice of Translation of Romanic languages Sub-department of Kyiv National University since 2000. Defended thesis on “General Language studies, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics” at Moscow National University after Lomonosov in 1990. Worked in the sphere of translation difficulties, sociolinguistics, French slang of youth, technical translation, computer translation, to mention a few. Translator. Main directions of academic activities: translations from French, English, German into Ukrainian and Russian, and from Ukrainian and Russian into French and English. The author of over 20 publications.
