Currently, the Department provides training in Spanish, Italian and French and boasts the strongest team of Romance language specialists in Ukraine: 6 Professors, 18 Associate Professors, 6 Doctors of Science, 2 holders of doctoral degrees from Paul Valéry University – Montpellier III (France), and 27 PhDs.
The Head of the Department is Associate Professor Iryna Sytdykova, PhD in Philology.

Erasmus+ Programme Project (Project Duration: 2023–2026)
- On January 16, 2024, a consortium meeting took place in Coimbra, Portugal. (Staff members from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv participated online.) Associate Professor Lada Klymenko delivered a plenary presentation entitled “Teaching Foreign Languages in Ukraine and Beyond” (presentation attached in English).
- From July 8 to 11, 2024, Associate Professor of the Department of Romance Philology of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology, Tetiana Burmistenko, and Senior Laboratory Assistant of the French Center, Larysa Huberniuk, visited Heidelberg, Germany, to participate in a working meeting within the framework of the Erasmus+ project COMMUNIKITE. The visit was carried out at the invitation of the Institute of German as a Foreign Philology of Heidelberg University, a partner in the project.
